Set up two-factor authentication (2FA)

Last updated November 1, 2026

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second step when you sign in, so a stolen password alone can't get into your Orvoro account. You can use an authenticator app, a passkey, or both.

Set up an authenticator app

  1. Install an authenticator app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password or Authy.
  2. In Orvoro, go to Settings → Security. Under Two-factor authentication, find Authenticator app and click Set up.
  3. Scan the QR code with your app. Can't scan it? Type the setup key into the app instead.
  4. Enter the 6-digit code your app shows and click Verify & turn on.

Add a passkey (optional)

A passkey lets you sign in with Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello or a hardware security key. Go to Settings → Security → Passkeys & security keys and click Add passkey. See Add a passkey or security key.

Create recovery codes

Recovery codes are one-time codes you can use if you lose your phone or passkey — at sign-in, or to confirm a protected change.

  1. Go to Settings → Security → Recovery codes and click Create codes.
  2. Save them in a password manager or print them. We only show them once.
  3. Each code works once, and we email you whenever one is used.

Creating new codes stops your old ones working straight away.

Turn the authenticator app off

Go to Settings → Security, click Turn off authenticator app, and enter a current code from the app.

Troubleshooting

  • "The code is incorrect" — make sure your phone's clock is set automatically, then try the newest code.
  • Lost your phone? Sign in with a recovery code. No recovery codes either? Use Can't sign in? on the sign-in page to start account recovery.
